Dav's hope. now you crash when you try to switch modes. on purpose or badly written code ?

So was able to land at davs hope, no materials about, i assumed it was because i was in open, so i try to log into solo and game crashes out after a long wait, tried quite a few times. eventually had to log into none horizons version and recover in space, tried to log back into horizons in space, crashing still, so now i assume i have to actually leave the system in none horizons version.

This done on purpose to stop people getting mats ? or is the coding for this game simply not stable, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. ie bad ?

That's a random problem since 3.0, not only at Dav's Hope, but also at other surface locations or just at random planets. I was at Dav's Hope yesterday - worked flawlessly. But couple of days before 3.0.3, I couldn't load the game in Horizons.

We got new engineering. Everyone wants to re-engineer their ships. We got tons more storage. CMDRs far and wide want to fill this storage.

Too many people are at Dav's. Many are relogging rapidly. It's too much for the servers. Simple as that.

there not real places, if your in solo it shouldnt matter where you are in the galaxy, it just makes an instanced version of the area your in, unless the game cant cope with people no matter where they are, that doesnt make sense.

fair enough if i was in open and it was trying to network a lot of people together, other than that the work is done on each persons computer.

Except when you start the game it has to place you in an instance. And apparently the same server does it even if you're in solo. I had it happen to me twice, I did a lot of troubleshooting and reading, and opened two different tickets with FDev. The first ticket was only a couple days after 3.0 and they did not have an answer to why I was having a problem. The second time was a week or so later and they gave me a good explanation about how it's too many people in one place.

I still haven't been having any issues with this, today included. I did take a trip of sorts out to Hawking's Reach today for the Stephen Hawking Memorial Event, but I'll be back at it soon enough.

On one of the relogs a few days ago I did drop maybe a couple of meters when logging back in in my SRV. No real issue though.

Same here, i was there about 3 days ago and had like 8-10 runs without any problems...

You don't need to mode switch. Just returning to the main menu respawns stuff.

Yes, that's right, though I have accidentally mode switched a few times, and without issue, at least for those times. It was St. Patrick's Day recently, after all...

If you're crashing your SRV when you mode switch, perhaps you should bring it to a full stop and put the handbrake on first. :D

Sorry, couldn't resist. :p

Maybe don't make relogging part of the gameplay loop then. If Dav's Hope is such a draw for players constantly logging to get the mats needed, maybe Fdev should listen to their player base and, y'know, fix it.
