So I played again last night. It was not that fun.
Noob mistake #1 - Couldn't find the Mission Board of a station.
It took me awhile, over 30 minutes, and I needed help from someone in-game chat to learn that STATION SERVICES was not just the title of the station service menu.
So I played with all the options within the station services. The game is really starting to feel like a text adventure. I spend most of my time looking through endless amounts of text. I started looking for the prompt so I could type GO NORTH. Do not get me wrong I like all the economics of the game but I was swimming in data with no real clue where to begin.
I did three missions last night for about 4K each. Just when I was getting a bit desensitized to the routine the game did throw something unexpected at me. Someone (I think it was NPCs) pulled me out of FTL then attacked me. There were 3 or 4 radar blips but I think only one was attacking me. They had my shields down before I could figure out what was happening. So I just focused on running and trying to get my FSD back up. I succeed and got out of there with 52% of my hull intact.
After the whole session was done I didn't have a great feeling about the game. It really was lots of reading and browsing list of stuff. Then Fly out of a station. Then travel to the next station. Then fly into the station. Repeat.
Todays Questions -
1 - How do I know where I have been? Is there a log of the missions and or locations I have been to?
2 - Many of the quest that I could have taken were I NEED THIS ITEM. PLEASE GO GET IT AND RETURN HERE. I didn't take them because I didn't know if I would see that item within my next couple systems. Is there a way to look up within the game who needed what? So that when you are at another station you can see if they have it? Or do you guys write it down on paper?
Thank you for your time. I really do appreciate it.
