DBX power - can deploy far greater than capacity without power mgmt?

Either my one ship is bugged, in good way, because I've owned DBX before and never had this happen - or it is new symptom / bug for all DBX since I last owned one - or side effect I don't understand of 'normal' power management.

My fully A rated DBX with exploration gear but also fully armed - kinda wanted to be an actual 'combat' explorer - seems to be capable of using far more than 100% of max available power, all concurrently, without shutting any extra down to reduce myself below 100%.

-in outfitting power use: RETRACTED = 13.86 MW , DEPLOYED = 15.98 MW , AVAILABLE = 15.60 MW

I would have expected to do some minimum form of power management, setting a few modules to priority 3 or 4 so they auto shutdown when I deploy hard points

-but I have every single module enabled in power system
-on modules side screen, it reads output 100% , and Usage only 98%

??? - in outfitting my total deployed power is in excess of total available - yet on module side screen with everything on I'm only using 98%?

Obviously, this is to my benefit, but every other ship I've had (including prior DBX that I sold), the power management was simple and clear - if usage exceeds max available, whatever lowest priority modules auto shuts down, and you see the Usage line with red triangle indicating you are over 100%.

Wondering why my DBX seems to be able to use more power than max available, and on top of that, doesn't even put me at 100% usage but only 98% by going 0.38 MW more than available.

Could you post a list of your modules?
 
There is a bug/behaviour where disabled modules still show up in the MW comparison but not in the right panel % screen.

eg. I sometimes fit 4 shield cell banks to my python for long combat zone grinds, I leave 2 on at a time. When I look at my percentage power use it will read something like 102% which is fine as my scoop and fsd turn off during combat. But If I look at the raw MW usage in the outfitting screen then it shows all modules usage even if some are turned off. eg 35/30MW used which is far above the 102% the right panel shows.

Basically use the right panel for checking power, not the outfitting screen.

But in my case, I have no extra modules that I've turned off - ever. Every module I've installed is turned on, has never been turned off, and my total usage reads 98% vs what the outfitting screen says I am over max available by 0.38 MW - which should put me in the 102% or 103% overage position, yet does not

The detailled surface scanner has a power requirement of 0.60 in the outfitting menu, but actually doesn't use any power when you are flying the ship.

(it is underlined is ED shipyard btw)

It would appear both - the ED shipyard numbers you give above are -within rounding error for however the side panel shows percentages - spot on for what my in-game side panel shows me: 98% usage with all modules enabled and deployed

It's just the outfitting screen that for some reason is telling me I am over max available.

The other poster made a reasonable point re: maybe this other bug with outfitting not dynamically taking into account modules you've turned off - but I've not turned off any modules, and it shows me being 0.38 MW or roughly 2-3% over max capacity.

This must be some weird outfitting bug then, and fairly new, because like I said, I've owned DBX twice before in last 3 weeks - and my outfitting always matched my side panel

Won't complain, lets me keep all my current gear on and still be tad under 100% but sure would like to know what causes this outfitting glitch - luckily hasn't done it on any other ship I have

Always someone on forums that knows lol. Good to know.

This is/was first time going on real exploration so first time using DSS - so first time running into this power reporting issue but good to know for future build planning when I stick a DSS module in.
