DCS WWII: Europe 1944 - Kickstarter

Hi,

Digital Combat Simulator is the most realistic flight sim available - the Flight Model is as close to reality as you can get it on your PC (besides moving your PC into a real plane ;)).

DCS creator Eagle Dynamics and people of the former IL2 team are creating a WWII flight sim using that engine. Please take a look at their new Kickstarter-Project:

DCS ... what's to say? Always, beautiful stuff! Gonna have to throw some money their way for this. :)

Looks good....

So the core is free and you buy modules. o oh... looks like it uses Starforce DRM (need to activate, limited activations too although you can deactivate a computer).

Pity, it would have been a good project to back. I love Flight Sims.

A favourite was called Flight Unlimited and FLight Unlimited 2.

@Styggron:

You always have unlimited activations coming with every DCS product / module you purchase.

The only limitation: You only have 10 instant-activations - these are machine activations - on each license key. If you run out, you will regain the last activation automatically after 30 days.

Also you can avoid using up one of those instant acivations by deactivating a key berfore unistalling DCS.

The market for max-realism flight sims is a lot smaller than for space sims, so they have to make sure to get at least a little bit of money. Recreating an aircraft to the highest possible degree of fidelity is extremely expensive and Eagle Dynamics can only do this because of having contracts to build flight sims for pilot training with the real-world military.

That's why any other flight sim feels a bit unrealistic after flying DCS - and I also have played a lot Flight Unlimited 1. :)

A work in progress video of the EDGE engine - already 8 month old. It will be compatible with all available and future DCS modules, as with DCS WWII: Europe 1944.

Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea is about 8.680 km²:

And a nice fan video (almost all material from old graphics engine / older games):

Some more info and to make pledge options clear (as they may be more difficult to understand than getting a pilot license ;) ):
