Dead in Space -what is going on? Help needed

I start out in AZEBAN CITY with a brand new EAGLE (two pulse lasers, a cannon and chaff launcher, no cargo) to do some fighting in the low intensity zone near ERANIN 2. I supercruise to ERANIN 2 and when I can see the low intensity zone I change the aim to this location and continue to cruise. Then I lower speed to safe disengage and drop out of supercruise at the lowest speed about 40 KM ahead of the fighting zone.

Then I end up dead in space without hitting anything or any reason. The drive is dead and there seems to be a hull break (and 5 minutes left of oxygen) - and yes I hear my breathing. That is the end.

This has happened twice (reproduceable) and I have no clue what that can be. Lost the insurance twice now.

Any idea why this happens???

Yep...not enough Power! Upgrade your reactor bay...

your usage is over 100% as you can see when you check your power usage in the modules

There really needs to be some form of warning about this like the one you get when you buy a weapon and it reminds you to add it to a fire group. I imagine the look on these pilot's faces when it happens each time I see one of these threads and giggle but only because it has never happened to me.
