So what happens if you run out of fuel? Like clean out. Do you just drift along until you self destruct? Does your power plant go offline and immediately explode you? Do you lose power to life support and suffocate?

Can you use Hydrogen Fuel (cargo) to refuel yourself? Could someone bring you some? I realize being dead out of fuel would make getting it from one ship to the other a hassle. Especially since the Cargo Hatch would be unpowered on the recipient.

Currently you die after 1.3 you might be able to have a friend save you with fuel transfer drones.
i dont know how many evangelion fans there are that play this game. but I wish when you ran out of fuel that your ship would slowly power down non essential systems saving your life support for last, counting down your last seconds before you expire.

We still don't have a date for beta yet, and the devs have previously had a "when it's ready" response to questions. 1.3 will be a massive upgrade remember (previous major updates have been about 1-2 months apart). After beta it'll be another week before it's the "real" version. So, with a tailwind (beta release next week, which I'm NOT saying will happen!!), it would be two weeks away.

On a related note, how would you direct anyone to the place you're waiting for to be refueled?
In other words, if you're not in a wing, how can anyone come to help you? Or can you wing up with friends even if they are in another instance?

You can hand do that yourself in the systems interface, so if they do add some sort of refueling system. FD may want to add a live chat to the sidebar of the forums because people will be constantly coming in and asking for help.

In my defense, I was just looking for the first link I could find to it, so I went to the current Newsletter and there it was in one of the links. The date has been posted elsewhere, I'm sure it must be in one of the Dev Update threads as well, as I remember May 28 being mentioned somewhere. But yeah, forums, facebook, twitter, vine. Whatever works :p. I don't support the use of any kind of social media myself, so I'm rather inept at these things.

If only we had a way to transfer payment. I think being a traveling refueler would be kinda cool... I probably wouldn't actually do it, but I do think it'd be neat.

Wait, you literally explode? Like if your ship was under fire?! That's silly. When life support expires, your 'vision' should just fade to black.

Anyway, I was just thinking about if they did eventually allow Hydrogen Fuel cargo to be used to supplement one's fuel reserve, why couldn't we also take fuel from the tank to containers? I can't imagine it would be lucrative, but wouldn't it be neat if you could use a fuel scoop to scoop to the canisters and store them in your cargo bay (if you have one)?
