Dead Space is Currently Free on Origin

As per title!

Origin is EAs version of Steam.

And Dead Space is basically gamings answer to the Aliens movie.
It's a brilliant survival, psychological horror. Especially if you play it just using the starting pistol. Lol
(Which was an achievement on the Xbox 360!)

I personally enjoyed it, and it's 100% free on Origin right now. :)

CMDR Cosmic Spacehead

cool any link to the game, so we can see if it's worth downloading?

Added a link. :)

If you like a third person shooter, and a good jump scare and some weirdness. You'll like it. :)

2&3 turn more action based than horror, but are still good fun. Kinda like the actual aliens movies, that turned away from horror to action.

That looks interesting, I will give it a go, but man there are too many games to play and not enough time.

I have played all the Dead Space games and they are excellent. The story is a little par for the genre but well told and voice acted. The gameplay is tight and well done. The only weapon you really need is the starting one, just upgrade the bejusus out of it as you go along. Very satisfying cutting the limbs from the creatures.

It's very atmospheric and yes it does have cheap ads jump scares but overall they are better done in this than many games I've played with similar ideas.

The zero gee bits are well done also and not to drag Star Citizen into this but just are CIG doing when small companies from years ago managed it so much better. I digress. Apologies.

Well worth playing and going on to play the second and third in series. Free for this is a massive give away on a great game that will look very much This Generation in terms of graphics.

Its a really amazing and very atmospheric horror experience with exceptional sound design that will hunt you. Even if you object EA/Origin I strongly suggest getting the game or hey, even just buy it on Steam - its ab absolutely worth it, pretty long and fun experience. I played all 3 DS games and frst two are definitely the best ones with first one on top.

Indeed. We agree again. Sometimes feels as though you might be my long lost gaming twin haha. :)

I will add that with DS3 they messed up a bit in my opinion (not the Visceral studio but damn influence from EA) making game too much action focused and by forcing some really cringe worthy "love drama story" on the top of it = pretty much getting rid of the horror element. Real shame because DS3 has some really well crafted and atmospheric locations. Speaking of - nothing will top Unitology Church from DS2 - really beautiful/unique yet scary and twisted location, I think its my fav part of all DS games.

Yup, looks like it haha! You have a fine taste in games Jezzah o7

Yeah couldn't really put my finger on why the 3rd felt so much weaker than the others but I guess that answers it. Like you say it has some amazing settings and ideas in it all the same.

It's known as EA syndrome.

Studio makes epic game, EA publishes it.
EA demands better sequel, yesterday.
Studio does what it can.
EA then demands another sequel to be completed before the 2nd one. It doesn't do quite as well.

EA then sells the studio.
