Deal breaker. Please answer my questions.

Wait, what? I posted an entire thread with a whole bunch of questions about solo play and the impact and nobody mentioned this once. A bounty is a really easy thing to acquire. In fact, some modes of play pretty much guarantee it. And you're saying that if I get one on me I am forced into group play? That is a MAJOR thing. And people aren't aware of this?

I said this ba k in post 60. Get bounty against human and you get locked in all afaik

I think it's weird that some people ONLY want to pirate players, as if doing ANYTHING pve is "dirty" or "less than". Sure, the AI isn't as smart as a person but it's still fun and is still the same activity. Being a pirate is all about living outside the law and finding stuff to steal - why does it HAVE to be against players 100% of the time? If only pvp is exciting, then I really don't think ED is the game for that kind of player. It has a solid mix of the two, as you could meet anyone anywhere and anything can happen - not just what you want to happen, whatever that might be.

HCDS is your answer (take the Bartle test).

or: they simply prefer killing players... its more 'fun'.

There's a tonne of research on this sort of behaviors going way, way, way back to original MUDs... some of the old-timers here will have experienced this all first-hand (myself included).

Nowadays its probably non-pc to openly say "its just more fun killing players than 'bots" but that''s the bottom line of it...and... really... whats wrong with that ?

(The problem for games companies is that the prey, by definition, have to exist in significantly larger numbers than the predators.. and yet the standard business model still has both types paying the same money... can you see the conflict yet?)

((can you see the solution yet?))

(((Can you hear the PvPers howling already???))))
