Dear Community, stop being rude to other players.

Everybody is entitled to have their opinions, disappointments, frustrations related to the game, and this is a discussion forum for Elite, so we are free to discuss the good and the bad about the game. If someone is disappointed with a feature, a recent change in the game, they might have a point, and they should be free to express it, even if you personally don't agree with it. Suggesting that they are stupid, incompetent, weak, is not going to help anyone, and is making the person feel bad for no reason, and you create the image of a bad and hostile community, better to be avoided.

Please try to be considerate of other people that just want to play the game, to have fun, and post here hoping that they will help the game get better.

Thank you.

This is a different point needing a different thread. Even if this is the internet, its also a game community that is shaped by its players and moderators.

The easier option is to rise above the insults

True, good meme :D . I just made a point after noticing all the rude posts in so many threads. And I am sure that many of the people posting rude comments just weren't aware they were so. Maybe this thread will help calm them down a little and make them think a little more before posting.

Lol, yoi obviously havent been to other forums. This one is well balanced. Yes it gets heated at times, but people are entitled to vent their frustrations.

You know whats worse than rudeness? Attentions seekers who post new threads about the same thing over and over just so they can see their name at the top of the forum.

I guess. Didn't notice many of those though. But, I admit I didn't look.

True, vonDutch, great picture :D

I'm surprised it took someone this long to post this thread. It's the same with every game I've beta tested in the past 15+ years. There are wildly differing opinions on the game, good and bad, those that love it are called fanboys by those that hate it. Those that hate it are called other names, depending on their initial bad opinion post.

Games are rebalanced, changed, etc, and it's called being nerfed, because it reduces one groups or another's abilities in the game. Other don't like it because a certain element of players think it's fun to misuse features of a game against less skilled players, for their own fun, knowing full well that those they are going after are not skilled enough to counter it, these are the bully element who whine about nerfs.

There are those that get angry, considering any changes to be directed solely at them, taking it personally. And there are the larger majority of players who, play the game, and rarely, if ever, come to the forums, except to read official posts, and rarely, if ever, post anything.

There's then, sooner or later, a post about everyone's right to an opinion. And life goes on. This further signals my time to play the game more, and spend less time on the forums, as a point has been reached when things will balance out on the forums.

I'm sure we'll be seeing more reviews in the trade rags regarding the negative posts now as well, and never a one article about the positive posts, as has been seen for every game in the last 15 years.

+1 rep, Corwyn. I agree with you.

You're never going to have an internet 'community' that adheres to those ideals, Dreamer. The anonymity of the internet guarantees that no meaningful repercussions exist to discourage poor behavior, so the psychopaths, bullies and other assorted social degenerates have a rather large sandbox in which to spread their disease.

It's interesting to note that very few of those stalwart interwebz warriorz would dare run their mouth like that to someone face to face, because they know they'd take a beating after doing so. :D

Will you people stop referring to image macros as memes please?

A meme is an in-joke that spreads like a cultural wildfire. An image macro is text on an image trying to be funny. C'mon now lads, I know you're terminology buffs so that kind of mistake should be abhorrent to you.

You may be too late for that. :D

I'm still adapting to this community not being all that up to date in internet culture history, I come from somewhere that generally has a better handle on that sort of thing. But it seems the Elite crew are mostly aul'fellas who ain't got time for that, so I'm not gonna dig where there's no gold, if you get me. Let's move on and pretend I said nothing shall we :V
