Dear Doomsayers: Did No Man's Sky kill Elite?

So basically, past year there's been threads appearing every now and then saying "omg FD! you're not doing it right, no mans sky will kill your game". Of course there was lots of post saying that FD is killing their game with other stuff too, but let's stick to this one for now :)
So, now that No man's sky is out and been played for couple weeks now (only clocked 1 hour of it with friends ps4 myself tho...), the question is: Is it the Elite killer that it was supposed to be?

P.S. happy wednesday everyone! :D for no other reason than it's wednesday

I might pick it up when it drops to under twenty quid.

Shouldn't take too long if the reviews are to be believed.

Pool old Sean Murray is taking a right bashing on youtube since release.

Its opposite,you can say NMS is best marketing for ED,
1. Buy NMS
2. Refund NMS
3. Buy ED,be happy and have a lot of fun.

the answer is: no. personally I like the arcade-style approach of NMS. but those two games are completely different. If something ever could kill elite, it will be star citizen (if they release rather soon). but imo E : D will not standing still and will also develop until SC is released in 20 years.

I guess not.
On the contrary I think many more people have become aware of what a great high quality creation Elite Dangerous really is.
Of course not everything is like everybody wishes it to be, but what gamedev could live up to the various contradicting demands of the peoples.
But in general I think Elite is slowly but surely becoming the brilliant masterpiece it deserves to be.
For me personally it is the best thing that happened to spacesims since Frontier Elite II.
