Dear FD, mad props for the new cockpit lights.

I mean, look at this magnificent new cockpit lightning... you guys rock, I love these small changes!

Yeah, there's a ton of issues but I will give them that. The visual and GUI changes are all good. They don't necessarily "improve" the game (well the GUI stuff probably does) but still nice.
 
The best part is that the light on the board now reflects the colour used for your HUD instead of the orange light:

Which brings the question: it seems that they don't mind us messing with the GraphicsConfiguration file to change the colours —on the contrary since they worked on this change along with the galaxy map— so why does every single patch/hotfix resets that file so you have to edit it again and again? You don't have to remap your keys every time, surely this file doesn't have to be reinstalled with every patch.

My only guess is they are working towards allowing in-game change of the hud, but not yet ready to roll it out or announce it so players who take the time to edit their XML can keep doing so and they arnt too concerned with overwriting settings that arnt provided in-game is all.. not an uncommon thing.. why go through the trouble to create a routine to check if someone edited your config, if you cant set that feature's properties in the game..
