Horizons Dear FD, not being able to activate crew members in ship is ridiculous.

As the title says.

We can talk to them in ship, we can issue orders in ship, but for some mysterious reason we can't say "Hey, you're up." or activate crew members until we land.

That's ridiculous. Who's bright idea was that?

You know it's because they're on 'shore leave' unless you activate them while docked ?

However I have left dock a few times and forgotton to do this....which IS annoying, and furthermore, if I'm paying them ALL of the time I would expect them to follow me around like a lost puppy. And be there for when I do want to activate them.

Flimley

Shore leave huh? That's even a more ridiculous idea. So I suppose when we activate them they magically teleport to whatever place we are at? At no cost or time to get there? Or are they just freeloading onboard our ship as stowaways? If indeed that is FD's position then it's even more ridiculous than not being able to activate them in ship.

If you decide to go bounty hunting and upon arrival go to activate your crew member but can't. (Because you left without activating them first)... you have to go back to port and 'activate them' ...

It had seemed to me that the NPC crew actively follow me (via their own transport) and stay "on call" when on shore leave. Their travel expenses are covered by their off-duty pay. Then notify them to board when doing the prep/rearm/refuel pre-flight work a ship ahead of a mission.

I do hope that in the near future, the NPC crew can take a seat on the bridge (o 2/3 of them where possible). Those 3 NPC crew slots, makes me think about the upcoming multi-crew (3 extra player crew makes a full wing), so maybe there's some future chance of NPCs filling in there.

Kill warrant scanning, cargo scooping, mining, etc. etc. needs to be added too. Not to mention, if they are on "shore leave" then they don't get paid, as in if they ain't active then the meter shouldn't be running.
