Stop thinking of ED as a game, think of it as a service that costs 40 pounds per year.

You bought year 1, now you can buy year 2 for the same ammount.

If you don't want to pay for year 2 or 3 or whatever, the content you own does not go away and you can keep playing with everyone else.

You will still get maintenance and functionality updates, as well as new features that affect the the content you have purchased, for free.

Seriously it's called forepay annual model, and many magazines or software use it.

4 lines and anyone still complaining will be doing it for no valid reason and not out of confussion.
