Dear Frontier: PLEASE Quit Changing Existing Parts

I just noticed an unannounced "feature" of 1.3x. The models for both versions of the snowman bowtie got changed to new shapes. Now they no longer look like bowties, but like ribbons for packages. Which we already had. Observe:

Granted, the new ties don't totally ruin this statue, I just used this as the best example of the parts in isolation. The real problem, though is that the old tie model, especially the one without the dangling tails, was solid and flat and compact, one of the few such parts in the game. As such, it had MANY uses as a component to build other things. Such as, for example, T-shirts nailed up on giftshop walls, clothes hanging on racks, even small awnings and such things. But the new model doesn't work for any of that. So all the things we've built using the old model for the last 6 months are now ruined.

Frontier, you need an ironclad rule in your art department. This rule should be that once a part model has been released, especially if it's been several months, DO NOT CHANGE IT. If you don't like the old model, introduce a the new model as a new, completely separate part, so we then have both versions.

And please, please, please, bring back the old bowtie models. They were more useful PLUS we already had package ribbon parts anyway, so this change was unnecessary to begin with.

Thanks.

I don't understand it. Leave the old ones, add the new ones, now we have 4 bows to choose from.

More is better, change is bad! How do they not get that?

I know right? Pretty sure this isn't the first time we've complained about them doing this too... They should be aware of how we feel about this sort of thing by now considering that they did give us back the old pirate signs... Why do you still do this to us Frontier?

IMO unless there is an issue with the asset (texture issue/spelling) once the asset is considered finished and in game it should no longer be touched. If a bigger change is wanted it should be a whole new asset to the game

Agree totally.

The new model looks better lol

Well, perhaps, although we already had basically the exact same part as a ribbon.

The point is, the old model was very useful for MANY other purposes than just as a tie or ribbon. It was actually useful as a structural part for all sorts of little detail furnishings. This probably accounted for 90% of all uses of the old tie--how often does anybody make snowmen anyway? But now all those creations are ruined.

Of course the guys and gals that are responsible for those weird changes are not the ones that are able to fix the outstanding issues with the glitchy building system, unfinished coaster builder or path tool. So it is not wasted resources in that regard.

It does make me wonder though, what drives the art team to tweak Christmas ornaments in June of all things?! Do they have such a huge backlog that they only are able to pick this up right now? How did it end up in the backlog in the first place, was there something wrong with the previous asset? Is one individual so bored that he or she just started tweaking something for the sake of tweaking and maybe improve one's skills or portfolio in the progress? And is there no lead designer they have to report to and defend that this change was really necessary? Surely it can't be the case that one individual changes the look of everybody's game, just because he or she thinks this looks better?

The PlanCo art lords move in mysterious ways.

I thought players got used to it meanwhile.

Shiny walls set, unrestricted coaster builder, more realistic victory, beautiful ride signs etc. All gone.

What's with the constant bashing of the art team in this and other posts? It's getting tiresome.
