Dear Frontier, why has Li Yong-Rui still not been fixed? Have you decided to leave it?

It's not just the Scotch talking, either...

I read quite awhile ago that Li Yong-Rui broken discounts would be fixed. But time has gone on and many updates have passed. Has a decision made made to just leave it alone? Is the coding too tricky? I genuinely mean that, I'm not being snide. I have no idea how to code.

Li Yong-Rui was NEVER supposed to offer a ship discount, only Outfitting. Patreus was the only one to offer a blanket 10% discount on Imperial ships. Some stations offered discounts on Asps and such (Alioth 20% off Asp?). Mahon offers a 20% discount on HRP's and Cargo Racks. Hudson offers 10% off Weapon Modules. Founders World offers 10% discount and every module is available...but these are all underutilized because Frontier has not fixed Li Yong-Rui.

Didn't David Braben want us out flying around the galaxy more? Didn't he say he did not envision us huddled around our little home systems? Fix Li Yong-Rui, and by default we will now have to get out and see the rest of the neighborhood.

Or has it gotten to the point where Frontier is afraid of player backlash for making it "unfair" for those who didn't get discount ships? I hope that's not the case and Frontier has more sand than that. If not, just take away everyone else's bonuses (since LYR makes them pointless anyway) and add Ship Discount to his Power Play panel and call it good. But this long-lingering issue has made a major impact on the game, with re-buys being much lower than they should and ridiculous discounts on high priced ships.

Alternatively, we could just let everyone forget about it again and go on pretending everything is working as intended. But I say fix it and make the other Powers' bonuses valuable again.

I've said in other threads, being able to easily buy any ship in the game at such a significant discount is....wrong. It looks like changes/fixes to PP are currently frozen at FDev while they get 2.1 out of the door

As outfitting tends to make up the bulk of the total cost of a specced ship, it doesnt make a huge difference IMHO.

I never realised there was never supposed to be a discount on actual ship purchases. This is the first I've heard of that.

Can't complain though, I've purchased my Asp, FDL, Python and Anaconda in LYR systems so that's a fair old whack of a discount.

Although it isn't a confirmed bug, I'm not convinced that the LYR outfitting discount is correct - 15% off every module seems very generous compared to discounts offered by other powers

Maybe it is meant to scale according to LYR's galactic position e.g. 5% for third, 10% for 2nd, 15% for 1st

I had no clue aswell..

I only bought my ships in Li Yong Rui systems in my beginner months because i wanted fly ships i otherwise coudn't buy.

I still buy them there now. 21m or so off the price of the Anaconda, thank you very much.

yeah, but in the end, you are not buying with dicount. cus, if you sell agian, you also get 15% less then if you buy without discount..

But you are right, back then my Anaconda is bought with 15% discount as well since i wasn't patience enough.. lol

Well, I hope you weren't using 109 Piscium!

The PMF (Player Minor Faction) 109 Freelancers were inserted into that system, and absorbed a lot of Church of Space Cat members. Then they started attacking all XBOX Groups who aligned themselves with the GalCop initiative in the upcoming Dangerous Games. And they ticked off some of our PC brethren, one of whom UA bombed 109 Piscium and damaged Outfitting services there. It's quite a mess, but for those interested, there is a post about it on Reddit and it is pure gold. Well, I find it immensely entertaining, anyway.

Well, I have used 109 Piscium in the past, however Ising Dock didn't have an Anaconda so I couldn't buy it there. I forget where I bought it now, but it was nearby.

And to be honest, even if I had what difference does it really make? I'm not aligned with anybody. I'm basically a complete mercenary in the game. I'll do whatever works for me at the time.

Well, not exactly, but kind of? I only fly Imperial ships, so (selfishly) Patreus has a 10% discount. He is supposed to. LYR is not supposed to. That is the point I am making? Fix the bonuses so they do what they are supposed to and close this gaping loophole in the game?
