Death and loss of exploration data question.

Evening all,

A question,

If I am out exploring and I have exploration data that has yet to be sold, if i die (ship goes POOF!) do i loose all of that exploration data?

T.

I would guess it is stored in you ships log, so dead ship = dead log.

Would be cool to find a dead explorers balck box with 1,000s of credits worth of exploring data!!

Yes. Losing your ship means losing any data stored, such as bounties or exploration data you haven't turned in.

It's even better(?) than that. Not only do you lose the data and get to pay your insurance company, but the systems you've explored stay 'explored' for you, so you can never get exploration data for them.

I think that was since fixed.

However I have heard that there's a bug now that you can lose sight of systems you have already explored after you lose your ship - even if you HAVE sold the data. As I haven't lost my ship since doing exploration trips I cannot confirm this for sure.
