Death and paying for the funeral to ride on one of those funeral ships

hello all! Forgive me if this question has been asked before.

When you die, do you lose all the money in your account and you start over essentially? I am assuming no, since many ships have a insurance than the starting cash amount. I am asking, because I am getting more risky as I learn to play, so I know death is lurking out there.

Nope, you don't lose any of your credits. You get the option after death to respawn at the last station you stopped at, and using your credits you can repurchase your ship for the insurance cost. (most of the time much cheaper than the ship itself actually cost)

Currently, there is no death mechanism. When your ship is destroyed, you are ejected (this isn't actually shown), and have to claim on your insurance to get your old loadout back, or your progress WRT credits and equipment is reset to the default starting loadout you chose.

At some point, if IronMan is implemented, then death will be permanent.
