Death mechanics, teleportation and lore in Elite Dangerous universe.

We, or some of us would like some logic or at least some explanation lorewise why things are the way they are.
Often we search for explanations, and if we don't get any, we try to explain it ourselves.

However it is possible to keep the mechanics and to explain why it is like it is right now in ED.
What is needed is some changes to the graphics representation in the game, and an official lore explanation.

I for a long time used the mechanics that we can't die because our conscious is stored on a chip implanted in our bodies, and when we teleport we are transferred to the SLF into a mechanical body.

Then I saw this.....

And that was it, this is the explanation we need to make it work.

You get told you are ejecting when destroyed and lore comes from buying and fitting escape pods in 1984.

Timing is a game mechanic as I doubt people would be happy with ship destruction and wait a day before playing again. May kill immersion but it is just a game and people want to play rather than wait for a countdown.

If you want memory downloads and clones, that’s Eve

however that do not explain teleportation/telepresence does it?
