Death of a conda? What to bring on your carrier?

That would, actually, be a kind of disaster, ruining a lot of plans :)
Not necessarily, you could reach places by one-way-jumping somewhere, and then self-destruct and bring the carrier out there IF the mechanics work that way. So lots of possible new places.

But I suspect jumping your carrier around will be quite the grind, so I don't believe it will make the Conda obsolete.

Something just came to my mind... not sure if it has been discussed elsewhere (probably has), but what if I do something like this:
  • Load my carrier with enough fuel for 2 consecutive jumps, or store enough fuel for that in my own ship (not sure if possible)
  • Jump to a system far out that you cannot normally escape from, using a Neutron boost
  • Now that the system is known, order my carrier to follow me
  • Refuel the carrier for its second jump and exit the system as the carrier has enough range to do so, where my regular ship doesn't
  • Hand in the data for the system (would've been impossible before)
Could something like this work?

That's my assumption of how things will work, if there's the restriction of jumping it to places you've been. A one-way jump still results in you being in that new system, so you should be able to jump the carrier to your location. They did say you'll be able to command it from anywhere.
