Death = reset good or bad?

Death on Reset - makes me wonder weather or not to upgrade ships and earn creds or not, when you die you lose most in game progress, creds and ship if its worth more than your insurance covers

Some people like to pull Ironman, I am not one of those thus I don't reset save on death.
