Debug camera range

Hi Cmdrs
I have searched for this topic and can't find anything, so here's my questions.

I have noticed in some videos and screen shots that some Cmdrs have managed to increase the distance/range of the debug camera from their ship/SRV, is this possible and if so how is it done?

Hope you can help

The debug cam handles like a drone, if you want to increase distance you just need to use reverse thrust/throttle.

Thanks for the reply
I have been using the debug camera quite a lot but the range seems to have a fixed max limit, what I want do is increase that range.

Sorry for not beeing more helpful.

Yes, there is a fixed limit and I don't know how to get rid of it ;)

I guess it's a long way down their list of things to do, but some decent in game controls for cameras would be really useful - and possibly complimentary to them selling more copies of the game ;)

It just seems some Cmdrs have managed to increase the range, or am I seeing things

I've noticed when your in the SRV you fly the camera much farther away than when your in your ship.

Illusion I think, due to the SRV being a lot smaller.

You'll notice the same sort of difference whether you're zooming out from a Sidewinder or an Anaconda.

Hi Pippo. I understand what your saying but I still think the SRV cam has more range, that's my SRV centred inside the ring of the ring of the top skimmer. Anyway It would be nice to have a greater range on the ships cam.

.

If so, try and draw an Anaconda around your SRV, it'll probably occupy a good part of the screenshot.
Yeah, it only seems as if the debug cam has a larger range with the SRV: the SRV is really, really small compared to the ships.

Easy to test:
land on planet
start debug camera
zoom out above the ship as much as possible
take a screenshot (ship at center)
deploy SRV
start debug camera
zoom out above SRV (positioned under or beside the ship) as much as possible
take a screenshot (ship & SRV at center)

More range, FA off style movement, and removing those stupid boxes around every ship / SRV.
thats what I want.
seriously those boxes really tick me off.

Good idea.

Debug camera when used on the ship:

That's in both cases the furthest "corner" to the front right of the debug camera range.

So the debug camera has actually a smaller range when used from the SRV.

Any one else puzzled by the fact that they let us slam the camera through planets but make excessively large no-entry zones for the ships and SRV?

Also give us some room, literally... We (well I atleast) would really love to be able to zoom out some more for scenic screenshots. The thing already moves at the speed of a dead snail anyways, so why's there even a limit in the first place? : /

I'd also wish the thing would move faster, combat advantage my back, I wanna see someone be able to actually live long enough to get an advantage that way even IF the thing would be like twice as fast for example, or just 50% faster. Also why's the SRV camera faster than the ship?
It might be just the size thing again but it still feels faster, even when just rolling it.
