I'd like to see an ECM module that is capable of modifying the electronic profile of a ship to show it as another ship type on scanners, this would be good for anti pirate operations, traders, military etc and would provide an interesting challenge in all sorts of situations.
The point at which a scanner would see through the deception would be determined by the relationship between the quality of the (DM) ECM module and the quality of the scanning ships scanners plus a small random component, if the ship using (DM) ECM fires a weapon the deception is also dropped.
It would have no effect on a visual inspection.
