Dedicated key to eject a single ton of most valuable cargo. ie: To pay off pirates easily!

If you get interdicted by a pirate, most likely - if you're not going to fight - you need to jettison some cargo quickly to make your "payment" and go.

In the heat of the moment, fiddling around in the right pane might not be the best thing, so I'd suggest having a dedicated button to jettison a ton of cargo, in this priority order:-
1) Most valuable cargo not a rare.
2) A rare.

So you could press the key 4 times for example to jettison for tons of palladium or gold.

Question: Should it jettison or abandon the cargo?

If I were a pirate I would support this idea. However, to be certain that it will work I think each push should jettison 4 tonnes of the most valuable cargo. The key does not need to work if cargo units is worth less than 1000cr per ton :)

I think being able to jettison a single container of cargo at a time is a good idea. and maybe make it so the player can select which cannister/category to go first.

Beats just dumping everything. Since the cargo bay loading and unloading is supposed to be automated, this also is reasonable. The ship would just dump whatever single canister is closest to the scoop.

The idea would to make it as straight forward (fire & forget) as possible. Hence it simply trying to select the most likely thing for you to jettison. You could jettison 3-4 card in a matter of seconds, where as currently you'll be trying to dig around in the right hand panel while wondering if you need to escape or not, or read your incoming messages etc!
