Dedicated missions and CG for different ship size:

I recently had fun with some friends making some duel in sidewinders...PvP.

I thought that i missed the feelings that small fighters like Eagle, Sidey and Viper gave, and i realized that those ships went ''abandoned'' from players for Vultures, Cobras and biggest ships like Phytons and FDL.

That said, i wonder why we shouldn't have missions, community goals or campaigns where only small ships (or maybe just a kind of ship) are allowed, balancing them and give back to little fighters their dedicated role .

I'd imagine some mission a la star wars, having a lot of fighters in a conflict zones with specific objectives (IE: take down some capital ship subsystem),or protect some convoy from factions attack until reinforcements arrives.

some mission that required wings etc.

I think that with the upcoming PowerPlay, thing will be better in that sense.

I don't think there will be any dedicated mission per ship size. But I wish small ships have better role in game than it is now. Now they are abandoned like you said. Used only from enthusiasts who love to fly different ships each day. Now when you start with base sidewinder you can jump in to viper in a 30 mins, I made 2 videos about that like proof. I do not have to say how fast you go from viper to cobra and than vulture. All can be achieved in few hours. Should test it once.

Small ships are abandoned and FD is still making ships worse than a cobra.GJ FD

Keeping this on topic and not having a negative thread like every other one since powerplay! Seriously guys, come on...

I like this idea as long as its just some goals and not every goal. The main problem I see is enforcing it, how would you make sure players only use the designated ship?

Trading, sure you can set the CG to only accept trading done in a certain ship since you have to trade to/from that station and can't transfer cargo between ships.
Combat, however, is hard since I could rack up a ton of combat vouchers in a big ship and swap to a small one to hand them in.

Yes I'd love to see this and have everyone on the same footing but I don't know how FD would be able to implement it.
