Deep Core Mining - Monazite

:unsure: Ok, I have looked at the videos, I use EDDB and Reddit Mine Location Info, I find the locations with good report times and that are not depleted, I go and identify find the Monazite Hotspots!

Yet in 2x 3 hour Mining trips I have only found 2 Monazite rocks in the Monazite Hotspots - Alexandrite, Musgravite, Benitoite, Serendibite - but Monazite seems to be lacking in the Monazite Hotspots. What is going wrong?

I ask as the Void Opal Hotspots at least seemed to have Void Opals. Is this just the way it goes with metal Hotspots?

Oh, I found 2 amongst all the others; the ratio just seemed completely different to Void Opal Hotspots where 60-70% of the finds were Void Opals. With the Monazite Hotspots it seems to be only around 20% of the finds are actually Monazite.

Good that you found a good ratio though (y) maybe I was just unlucky in my first attempts. Thank you.

Also, since the price differences are not as great as they were with VOs, you have more choices of rocks that are worth cracking open. Which also helps with the selling price when you get to a station and don't have so many that the price goes down.

Hmmmm, that's part of the reason I posted. Although the prices seem better than the Void Opals, I find when using EDDB etc, the prices are never near the value indicated (even with 40 mins time elapsed it still goes from stating 6-700,000 to actually being 4-500,000. So not only do I find much of the Monazite in the Monazite Hotspot, but then when I go somewhere to sell, it seems to be a low price too.

I don't remember there being such a discrepancy between the EDDB price and the in-game price.

I was yesterday in HIP 115094 and third planet with rings have overlapping monazite hotspots. It took while but found many deep cores with monazite. Other ones too.
