Deep Space Exploration Missions

I find many fantastic locations are <60% explored. Places like nebula where systems are mostly FSS scanned, but only some planets are DSS and a few have first footfalls and bio samples. These areas are only partially explored. But there isn't much reason to further investigate these systems because it is much more efficient and "profitable" to go to regions that are completely untouched.

But wouldn't pilots federation be interested in more complete studies of these unique and interesting locations?

Suggestion:
Missions to specific galactic deep space locations +20K Ly from human space. Nebulae, black holes, unusual locations, etc. Cmdrs get full payout of all systems and planets in a 50Ly radius and 10% bonus regardless if they have already been discovered or scanned. Additional rewards (I'm not sure what, something other than credits) depending on a cmdrs level of completion. A fantastic reward upon returning to the mission giver in human space. Something to make it really exciting and worth the effort.

Why?
To encourage deep space explorers to complete mapping of important (scientific, industrial, strategic) locations around the galaxy. And to give some explorers a stronger feeling of direction, purpose, and accomplishment.

Won't This Just Be Same Exploration Repeated By Cmdrs?
If FD set up 100 deep space locations for missions randomly assigned... yes multiple cmdrs will be sent on the same mission to the same destination. But from the POI of a cmdr they don't experience this. They simply go on the mission. No different than multiple cmdrs massacring the same drug gang or assassinating the same crime lord.

I have a dislike of missions as thing which prejudices me against this idea, however as long as time limits are not part of the mission it wouldn't be too bad.

An alternative would be to boost the bonus for fully scanning and mapping a system, perhaps not to the heights of exobiology first discovery but perhaps equal to the value of the whole system, which would leave it freeform rather than being told what to do.

I was imagining very deep space missions. Not a quick jump outside the bubble for insta-riches. For many cmdrs these would take months or +year to complete. Stacking missions might be allowed, maybe max three. There could not be any time limit... these are very long term missions for deep space explorers.

Credit incentives for fully scanning systems, often systems already partially scanned. That is why they get full payout plus 10% mission bonus for items already scanned. But who cares about credits... the big reward would be something other than credits. Maybe a slightly better ship module for exploration (no not a FSD boost!!!). Special paint jobs or decals. Something creative and well appreciated by explorers.

Aside from this 10% bonus thing, this is almost exactly the "Famous Explorer" passenger missions.

People who want to explore go and explore. They don't need a mission to encourage them to do so.

I'd like these, or at least extend the famous explorer pax missions time to complete to several months. The longest they give you is 30 days or so I think, to go sometimes 20k+ LY. I'd have no issue with people stacking as many of these as they wanted. Not holding out much hope for these though.
