Finally a forum for us!

Perfect place to share the Deep Space Surveys series :D

This is a well edited video series, full of astrophysics, wonder and adventure. Akin to (and inspired by) Isinona, they are captioned rather than spoken, but with peaceful music to fit the scene. They all tell a story about an explorer and the black. Consider them to equivalent to his videos but about the exploration side of the game.

Hard work has gone into editing and they are all packed with interesting findings. Never a dull moment!

They are all filmed with the Oculus Rift.

I only officially plan to make one more, and that is hopefully going to come out around 28th July. I will then move on to something else, hopefully better. I will release Deep Space Surveys as and when they crop up after that, but nothing official :)

New episode out, taking the most beautiful trip along the roof of the galaxy homeward bound. The theme of this episode is serenity, keeping sane and sights and wonders. Run into a few interesting things like a Herbig Ae/Be star, show an awesome timelapse of a carbon star during a solar maximum and please watch the ending, it will move you I hope.

Ah I already knew that ones :D. I have been watching it on my TV together with my girl who was fascinated.

Thank you good sir!

Pleasure. Always glad to get the girls on board in our geek quests.

My wife loves them too and has the privilage of first to see

All good now (it SEEMS). I replaced the motherboard and case, and came up with an ingenious way of cleaning the GPU. So far so good, haven't had any glitches and have even been playing ED for 20 minutes without issue.

PRAY it lasts!

I will be making a video on how I cleaned the GPU too, you'll want to memorise the method.

Anyway, all going well, I SHOULD be able to get the belated DSS7 out by Friday, and DSS8 out as normal next tuesday, but give me a chance to recover :D

Brilliant!!! Loved it. The music, camera work, the astrophysics factoids, all very relaxing and inspiring. So many amazing little systems to visit. Wonder if I will ever see them all?

I thought Haunting Vision was lovely. 70% of my exploration is spent far above the peach, currently on the left side mapping blackholes. Love it up here.

Imagine if we had atmospheric flight, some greater detail on the suns for pulsars, mass dangerous ejections and wolfs etc and could actually see rare events like silicon and water ejections from sheperd moons being squished by their gas giants etc....could do some truly beautiful captures out there.

nice work cmdr

Wow, why haven't you put any of that stuff in the Exploration Community Request List?

Thanks man, I totally agree. I always say this incredible Wonder of the Gaming World is haunted by what's missing. Imagine being so close to perfect and yet not quite there..
