Okay so I may be late to this so if this is already common knowledge forgive me, but I have watched the trailer probably too many times, I just really love it. And I have some, for lack of a better term, "Fan-Theories" of the trailer. I believe the trailer highlights Frontier's path to making this game. I will explain in detail here:
1) The beginning of the video shows the main character talking to himself and complicating some ideas looking a bit disappointed.
I take this scene to show the drawing board phase where Frontier is considering different options for a game, this game, maybe even having been denied rights to RCT by Atari (I am not sure there).
2) The boy with the balloons walking up to the character and the character turning him away while reading a book.
To me, the boy represents us, the players. We have been wanting a sequel to RCT3 for years from Frontier. The main character (being frontier) is telling us to wait and trust them while they research this idea further.
3) The main character in the rain and the roller coaster in the clouds.
I see this as a low point in development. Either plans failed or some other event occurred and it disappointed Frontier. The roller coaster in the clouds represents either the dreams of the devlopers (which is more likely) or it represents the looming "threat" of RCTW.
4) The pathway falls from the sky with more pieces to follow.
This was the initial breakthrough for the game. With each subsequent pathway piece being another idea toward the game, but development was slow at the beginning.
5) The park entrance appears over the horizon.
The park entrance represents the end goal of the developers, a well polished amazing game in its entirety.
6) The park rapidly explodes in content and is filled with many rides and coasters.
This shows the peak development time of the game. A point where every developer is now engulfed in the theme and ideas are coming from everyone's head so rapidly frontier can barely keep up.
Side note: Look at the main character's face as the roller coasters are built, he was a "Wow, how is this possible" look on his face, just like Frontier must have once the game started to take shape.
7) The main character makes it to the front gate and lets everyone in.
This is release day, the day Frontier can show us the complete and amazing game they have made.
When you watch the trailer again with these interpretations in mind, listen closely to the music, it follows this story perfectly.
Let me know what you think of my interpretation of the trailer, help me polish it up!
