Defecting with powerplay cargo

I defected whilst carrying about 40t of Torval's deeds. I sort of imagined that I could stroll up to my new power's control system and nefariously hand them in for um.... I don't know... "evil deeds" :eek:

Turned out there isn't anything I can do with them there (I thought I read somewhere about disrupting enemy power's supply lines and handing in the scooped powerplay cargo to one of your systems).

Should I just jettison them into a star?

That only works if the new power belongs to the same major faction. for example, Hudson and Winter are both members of the Federation.
