Deleted my Save. My own Iron man mode.

First off it was not an accident Deleting my save. It was my version of Iron man mode. I was flying my Asp and was attacking a few cobras and accidently hit an asteroid. I guess it the space vision of George look out for that tree. ok Asteroid.

I could of paid for replacement of asp 20 times over. but seriously where is the challenge in that.

For the people who cry because they lack insurance. Man up and try IRON MAN Mode. You find you walk a very fine line between life and death and the risk makes the game better.

Now I have a choice. I have many ships to pick from new commander Sidewinder. To Kickstarter Explorer. I think I going for the sidewinder with 1,000 credit. I can't find the 100 credit version :s.

Congrats - although I play most of my games in ironman if they have it (Xcom EU, CK2) or self imposed ironman rules (Civ, Skyrim), I admit that I wouldn't delete my current save - I want to be able to test new ships when they're out etc.

I'm considering getting another copy of the game and play that account with self-imposed iron man rules though.

Do I infer that "Ironman mode" is such that when you die that's it you delete and start over?

I believe the OP is referring to 'Iron Man lite ' mode. In full Iron Man mode you have to buy the game again before you can re start. That's what a real man would do!

Next time fill your hold with the most expensive cargo you can get your hands on and attend a starter system. Jettison cargo for all the rookie pilots to get a bit of a start and once you're bankrupt, only then do you self-destruct.

Rookies will love you for it and will make your sacrifice mean something.

If we are ever to get multiple cmdr slots, one could be restricted to IM only mode, and i'm sure there will be many cmdr's who would take on this challenge. It makes no sense financially for FD to offer multiple slots as stated some are buying additional copies of the game already for this very purpose.

Hahahahahahaha this. So true. If you wanna get real then buy the game again - let's see how many 'Ironmen' we lose all of a sudden if that is taken into account, ie your account gets terminated at death.

Reset at launch after gamma, then again at ten million when I died. Last week though I smashed into a station wall at 40 million and just paid the insurance. Just couldn't bear to part with the clipper.

Well - actually that's the reason I'm holding off. Not providing features shouldn't be rewarded.

I'm all for supporting FD and money wouldn't be an issue, but buying the second copy just feels wrong.

Rep for getting that far and leaving it Lestat, I'm playing the same way. The risk does make the game better imo.

Multiple commanders will allow me a non-ironman, not the other way around unlike some others ;-)

I would love it if one day FD just switched this mode on for everyone and see what happens- I bet quite a number of people would change how they played once they got further into the game. Imagine the forum posts!
