Deleting (redundant) ED files after beta?

hi folks,

I've been playing and updating the game since the start and the size of this beta 3.0 makes me wonder if the updater software deletes the old un-required files after updating the new files?

Would really appreciate any pointers, please.

The beta will remain after it is finished. Once Live updates to 3.0, go to Username/Appdata/Local/Frontier_Developments/Products and delete the beta.

There shouldn't be any old/redundant files, other than the logs.

You can check the EDLaunch\Products directory for products that have been depreciated, but not deleted for some reason...you only need "elite-dangerous-64" (the live game) and "PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER_64" (the beta).

I've never had the betas properly delete for me, but if they are supposed to, that is good to know!

I'm not entirely sure if they do or not to be honest.

I normally delete the main game and rename the beta directory when betas end then use the launcher to verify the files and correct anything that doesn't match...it's usually about ten times as fast as updating the old client to the new version.
