"Deliver Media Materials to Chosen System"...?

So, I've pledged my allegiance to a power. Nifty.

But there's this little problem I'm having: my contact has bits of Media and Programme stuff that I can allegedly deliver to one system or another to change the Power Play dynamics and earn Merits.
But this system is not very adequately explained, and there were a few hiccups I ran into.

- For example, it's really easy to mix up which type of Media is which--and what you're supposed to do with them--while you're in flight, especially since they're so similarly-named.
- Or that one type is said to need delivering to a "chosen system", without actually naming one; I'm told you can figure it out on the Galaxy Map, in Power Play mode, and I do see what look like shield markers with numbers on them over certain star systems...but I'm not sure if those are these alleged "chosen systems" or what.
- Or that one type of media goes to a "controlled system", but I read somewhere else which seemed to call the systems where control is being attempted as "control systems", so the terminology gets kind of muddled.
- And I once was carrying 20 of a certain type of Media (I totally forget which), went to a system that wanted it (I totally forget why), and they would only accept 10 of it, no matter what I did.

So, I guess what I'm asking is this: could someone explain to me how the @#$% this works, or at least point me at a tutorial (text, please; video tutorials usually take forever to get to the part that interests me, and you never know how far to fast-forward past the redundant bits). Thanks.

Im no expert and im probably wrong but here goes anyway.

Im sure when i did this on power info section there was a page that had a list of systems that needed the media data and how much they had already recieved. This worked for me anyway.

Cant say why can only give 10?

Well, I'll have to look for that page, but I don't recall seeing it.

But then, much as I love this game--and I do!--I have to say that there are a lot of names for things that are misleading, and the "Scroll Down" bar is tiny, so sometimes you're not sure you need to do it. The interface can be a bit counter-intuitive at times.

So i just went onto check, under the control tab, select the system and itll tell gou the fortification progress so far.

Couldnt tell you how i found it first time around.

Im still new to this and am still enjoying the puzzle of figuring out how everything works, research and all.

That one is for delivering Programme Materials.

I didn't see anything that said "Preparation", but...if I'm reading the map correctly, it looks like my power isn't making any expansion attempts at all, but also isn't being conflicted or challenged in any way, either.

Seems a bit odd that we're so peaceful, but okay...I guess that means that half of what I could potentially do is pointless right now. I can bolster strength within the power, but we're not trying to expand, so that's all I can do.
That is, if I'm understanding correctly.
Is there a way to instigate a take-over/expansion? Or is that something the AI decides (probably when merits/ranking is calculated)...?

And I totally misunderstood those numbers in shields; I thought they were, like, levels of prep--and thus, needed more if the number was lower--but I guess that's a 1-10 ranking. Huh.
Weird.

Well, thanks. :) I probably really do need to find a proper tutorial for this stuff, regardless.

Okay, I'm still confused...can someone please, in no uncertain terms, explain how to find which systems are "chosen systems"?

And I mean step-by-step, leaving out no details.
No "Just click Tab X"...more often than not, it's like, "Where do I even find Tab X???" And sometimes, there is more than one tab that could potentially have that name, sometimes from Power Contacts, sometimes from the ship's computer.
I mean, say exactly what to click on from the ship's main screen, and if there is more than one thing necessary to click to get there or some way that needs scrolling up or down, don't leave that out.

Cuz, frankly, none of this makes a lick of sense.

They're chosen by you and other players, not pre-chosen. Determining which are actually valuable to your Power and thus worth fortifying is not very clear via the Galaxy Map. Your Power's subreddit and/or Discord/Slack will have people who've figured out the mechanics, set priorities and can explain why they set them. I did that for 18 months myself, and explaining it all would take too long in this format this minute. It's less possible to cause harm by fortifying freely than by preparing freely/randomly, so I'd stick to the former until/unless you learn more.

If you want I can explain in excruciating detail but not for several hours.

Edit: I'm certainly not explaining it click by click though. That's absurd.

That's kinna off-target; I'm not asking how powerplay works. That's not it at all.

What I'm asking is very specific: how to tell which systems fit the description of "chosen system", when it comes to delivering Media Materials.
Which the heck ones are they? How do I distinguish them from other systems that aren't "chosen"?
That's all I'm asking.

There is no blatant, obvious, in-your-face indicator.
There is no "Here are the chosen systems!" list.
There is no icon on the map that indicates if a system is "chosen", the way there is for controlled systems, or for capitals.

It's complete and total guesswork...and every tutorial and guide I've read dances around the topic without directly addressing it. Not one of them says, "Those Media Materials that say to take them to a chosen system will go to a place that is explicitly listed as THIS. On the map, where it usually says "Exploited" or "Controlled", you can tell it's a 'chosen system' because it'll say [Fill in the blank] instead."

I mean, c'mon...it CAN'T be this ambiguous! Why can nobody just SAY it in a direct and obvious way???

Use the powerplay overlay on the galaxy map, you can switch between each ones, prep, fortify, expand, or whatever

Theres also a list of the systems for each one in your section of the powerplay contacts

Why is not a question I can answer. It doesn't.
In a general sense "chosen" for fortification should mean valuable to the Power.
If Base Income exceeds both Upkeep and Overhead (62.1cc for Aisling) then it produces a CC surplus and is with keeping/fortifying.
Chosen in this case just means the system you choose.

Possibly there is none if your Power was in the negative and cant expand,

So...how do you tell? How can you know this?
How, if one is available, can you identify a system to which these should be delivered? What label should you be looking for?

To fortify you need to got to the capital and pick up programme materials, the list of fortified and non fortified are in you powers contact list, below galaxy map, also on the powerplay section of the galaxy map

If it's the system that I choose, then I should be able to deliver Media Materials anywhere.

And I can't.

But you might have answered the question without meaning to...are you saying that Media Materials go to a system that's being "Fortified"? Because I might be able to find a system that is labelled as "Fortifying". That, I think I can do.

But that's been my question all along: if I have Media Materials and I want to deliver them, what label should I be looking for? How can I identify a system to which they should be delivered?
I don't know why this is so difficult, but it seems like every answer I get answers something other than this question. It's bogglesome...where is this communication gap coming from?

But I'm not asking about Programme Materials, I'm asking about Media Materials.
They're different things. (And don't for a moment think that doesn't make it extra confusing.)

Media materials are used for expansion, these will only be accepted at expansion places
Programme for fortify, only accepted at places that need to fortify
