If I walk into a Ford dealer and they tell me I can have 30% off anything, I don't think I can really expect them to sell me a 747.
Except a 747 is not a Ford.
If you walk into a ford dealer, they tell you you can have 30% off anything, then you expect anything, but not half the range missing.
I'd take an F350 with 30% off. - Sorry, we don't have that in stock.
How about an F250? - Sorry, out of stock too. They next town has them, but at full price.
I'll take a Ford Ranger then! - Can't have that either, sorry, not at this place. Go next town. Why not have a Ford Fiesta?

Maybe car dealers work differently in the US? Over here if they offer you a discount, it's only on things they actually sell in the first place.

Car dealers in Europe also offer the entire product range of their brand. You won't find any, where you can only buy the economy model but not the luxury limousine. They are eager for the money.

If you want to argue like that, get at least a somewhat supportive comparison like an antiques dealer. They can only sell what is in stock and don't have a defined product range. But for the latter it's also not the same.

To reward contributing pilots, Gutamaya has agreed to an initial 10% price reduction to all Imperial ships, including the Gu-97 fighter and fighter bays. A further 5% reduction will be applied per tier reached.
This price reduction will be available in the Paresa, Cemiess and Cubeo systems only, and will last for two weeks starting on the 10th of December 3307. Imperial Navy ranks requirements still apply.

The last community goal reward for the Paresa, Cemiess, and Cubeo systems is discounted.
The only place that sells fighter hangers(fighter bays) is Cubeo's ground station, and it's not discounted.
The Imperial Cutter is also not sold in the relevant star system, so what's going on, management?

My original basis for the metaphor - which seems to have not made it through - was that things like the Eagle/Courier are essentially one person or small vehicles and roughly equivalent to cars, whereas the Cutter is a massive beast along the lines of a huge transport.

Maybe I should just have said "car" rather than "Ford". Or used rowing boats and oil tankers instead.

Heh...all the moaning about something that was never promised in the first place. Classic forum reaction. :ROFLMAO:

We had this discussion a week ago, and people still ignored it.

If a competition out there had this type of implicit fine print, I doubt the reaction would be very different.

Given the bugs, and the precedents (stocks have been adjusted in the past for discount rewards), asking for a confirmation from FDev is pretty fair.
Call it moaning if that's how you read it...

I think the expectations here are based on past CGs - we already had discounted cutters before (even on LYR/Shinrarta), so having again them on discount isn't that unreasonable. Heck, we even had discounted FCs. This discount without cutters available is a big frustration.

It wasn't that people ignored it, at that point it was still unclear what the outcome would be. Saying I told you so after the fact is...?

Setting expectations with text that says "all Imperial ships" and then restricting the rewards to systems that don't stock "all" Imperial ships is going to have blatantly obvious results.

Just took my new iEagle out for a spin.

Apparently the cargo scoop clips through the back of the ship when deployed. Another thing to add to the long list of problems with the ship models that need fixing at some point.

The original CG text had said Parcea which I took to be a mistype of Paresa as Parcea does not exist. Looks like they went by that original text, couldn't find Parcea so decided it must be Parcae! Since I queried it, the Cutter has now been added at Paresa, as it should have been in the first place!
🙂

The original CG text I got over the API did have Paresa as the name, never Parcea. Only the first post here does have that name in the description.

Yes the original text we were supplied with as CG Forum Mods did say Paresa at the top description but further down, when giving system names of where discounted ships would be available, it said Parcea. After this thread was posted, I was going edit it to Paresa once I was satisfied it was a mistake, as Parcea didn't exist - but looks like I forgot. Seems Frontier folk hadn't realised and stuck with Parcea/Parcae.
