I managed to find out how to do the Deliver Secret Data mission.
1. When you see this type of a mission, read it carefully and remember the system to which you have to fly and the time at which you have to be there. Only after that accept it!
2. Fly to the system and wait until the indicated time on the left panel. You will get the mission updated. You can be in a fight or at a station if you wish.
3. Check the time period on the left panel. You can perform other missions, but show up at the indicated time period in the system. Disregard the mission timer that will probably run out anyway.
4. Track the person shown on the left panel during the indicated period of time.
5. Follow his wake. Do not listen to what he says! The mission will be updated
6. Check the mission data on the left panel. Fly to the indicated station. Always avoid to be scanned.
7. Done!
Note: if a person leaves his wake and you get interdicted, you can fly out of the system and back into it to find that person again.
