delivery system

this idea is not mine it was done very nicely in a game called prison architect and also was mentioned by people in this forum so i thought it deserves its own thread.

first you build a storage room or create an area in which goods , like burgers drinks souvenirs or beds (hotels) or any other stuff which we need to run our theme park are gettin delivered to. then something like an ice cream/burger etc. truck will arrive near your park and bring the needed goods to the storage room. from here they will be brought by your park staff to the stalls shops and so on when needed.

Additionaly a stock system for the stalls could be added. lets say u running out of beef for the believe then you would have to order some new food because otherwise your shop will be makin no money soon. this task could also be done by a staff member at a later point in the game after you unlocked it .

I believe with the great graphics of pc it will be will be very nice to watch and i also like the managing aspect of. I could also see some stunning animations coming like a delivery guy falling and break some super highly needed gulpee souvenirs. or he´s is chatting with that cheef beef guy again and delaying the order.

Yeah, I already mentioned it... this kind of feature could be very nice to have to manage stocks and delivery.

It would be better is there's an option "automatic stocks/delivery" that could be turn on for people who don't want to manage this. With this option toggle on, the shops always have full stock.

but if they always have full stock there is no need for the delivery aspect and the animations would be for nothing but a good visual. i like if they really have an impact to the whole simulation proccess

Just as an option, if you toggle the option auto-stock, the stock is always full and there's no animation of delivering goods. And if like me you like to manage this, you enable the option, manage the stock and see the devlivery animation.

I like this idea. I think the best would be when you set the store, you can choose whether the stock is managed automatically or manually , but in order to activate the automatic option , it was necessary to hire a person to manage the stock , which would involve extra costs staff salary .

Great idea, but i would not disable all animations if stock is managed automatically.
IMHO you still have to create the Back-roads for restock vehicles etc, or the shops will not have any stock.

+1 for the idea of hiring someone to manage stock, but at a cost

The original Theme Park required you to watch stock supplies on food, I really didn't like that aspect of the game. You could also choose "No Ice, Little Ice, Heavy Ice" or "No Salt, Little Salt, Heavy Salt" so if u wanted people to buy more you give them extra salty food and ice filled drinks. I thought that was funny, but pointless.

For this idea to work, think of how many extra "animations" would have to occur, how many "delivery staff" would be required. Seems like it would be a lot for the game to process.

@coasterhype - I like how when somebody said "make it optional" you responded with "but no i dont want it as an option" LOL

this is already a feature in Parkitect - another theme park sim.. works well too in my opinion. It really depends how much micromanagement Frontier are putting into the game.[yesnod]

This is a neat idea, but I think it would be better suited for scenario mode and campaign mode type stuff and should be optional in sandbox; however, if this were in game, maybe the Magic Kingdom utilidoor could be made? [happy]
