Deluxe Edition

So the Deluxe Edition includes 5 more dinosaurs.

Is it a little bit expensive, because it costs 60€ (base 55€ so 5+)? This mean 1 dinosaur costs 1€.

Are you agree with this or do you think it's overprized?

Considering how much work is required to create one, from planning to modelling to texturing to audio to animations to AI coding... I think it's quite cheap :)

Yes, i agree. The modelation requires a lot of work from the developers and i consider 1€ for animal is quite cheap for that.

I am also willing to pay dlc futures as long as I consider that they have required considerable work

Compared to a lot of companies that put out less for more I think it is a great deal. The Deluxe edition is the same price as a normal game anyway.

I still think a majority of the people in this forum is considering to Pre-order the deluxe edition (I have already pre-ordered it)

I personally think this is quite a good offer actually. I wouldn't mind paying 5 more euros for getting some bonuses in the game ;)

Its not the price of the dinosaurs, its more the "deluxe edition" is so poor and uncared for. We as fans care about the game more than frontier put into that.

Needs a minimum of soundtrack and artbook before i buy it.. given all we know and how frontier has gone cold since the day after its looking like steam sale honestly.. and i was ready to pay full price on day0.

What about a making of documentary?

I think you are more so thinking of a collectors edition rather than a deluxe edition. As it stands the deluxe edition is the price of a regular game and the standard one is a cheap version of the game.

Expensive? Maybe. Overly expensive? I don't think so. As for the rest: I would love to have the soundtrack, an ''Art of'' book (be it digital or physical) and some other things, i.e. a proper collector's edition. But looks like that's unfortunately not happening.

Well, they should have charged more and put the stuff in.

Who (wants to) pays full price for a plain vanilla game anymore? Been buying collectors editions or sale cheap for a good decade now. Especially because its digital only, there are no production costs or retailer margins, so im allowed to think that chopping out 5 dinosaurs and making it feel special is poor form. Will say it again they're not even trying.

Ironically i probably would have bought it if there was just one edition at full price.

I'll buy it anyway too.

I think for 5 bucks that is okay,
Dino lovers would want as many dino species as possible anyway, so FDev might just as well make this the standard edition :).
I would never forgive myself if I did not have access to all possible species in the game.

I am more than happy paying full price for a game that doesn't come with a bunch of extra stuff that I will never look at. I honestly don't know anyone that buys collectors editions. I'm the only one out of all my gamer friends that even still buys hard copies. I only preorder this because I'm not waiting a month longer to play it.

Considering how expensive the Dinosaurs are to create in the game I think paying $1 or whatever for a Dinosaur is pretty cheap.

I don't mind cause I have paid $60 for games in the past and this game I got 5 extra Dinosaurs for $5. The base game is $55. So I don't consider it too expensive.

Like most people have already said, it costs more to make the 5 dinos than what they're selling them for.

I think it would be wise to set labels aside for a moment and look at the real meat of the issue. Ignore the words "deluxe edition" and look what you have. JWE is marketed as a triple A game. The usual price of triple A games these days is $60, the same price the so called deluxe edition is set to, while the standard edition is set at an unusual $55 dollars. If you put labels aside, what you really have here is a game with reduced content at a reduced price (standard) and a game with all the launch content at the normal full price of a triple A game (deluxe edition). People spend more than a dollar for cosmetic skins that add no gameplay value. $5 for five different, fully animated dinosaurs with their own AI? One might even call you stingy for being reluctant to buy that, especially when the standard edition in reality is just a reduced price.

Also, Suchomimus. No way I'm letting that dino slip through my fingers at launch lol.
