IMHO still a LONG way to go and clearly a prototype ... but still nice to see someone is working on it.

With all the new breakthroughs in battery technology, wireless VR could be here by third gen HMD's.

There are several new types of batteries, they just haven't hit the marketplace yet. The one I've been watching the most is Prieto batteries. They'll be in the market soon, supposedly in a smaller form for the wearable tech market.

I too thought it a bit odd that they put a bulky prototype on a little girl. Also for a wireless device I've never seen so many wires - but got the point, wireless between PC & HMD :D

Made me laff, wireless but so much tangle of wires :)

Get it though and exciting to see people working on 3rd party solutions :)

That girl is gonna get tired real fast carrying all that weight.
Given the cpu power that has come to cell phones in the last few years I could see portable vr being quite viable in the not too distant future. We live in a glorious times
(except for all that war and famine crap of course)
