Demoed ED at my local pub tonight

So let me get this straight. So theres a pub. In the world. I assume Cambridge, where people take their PCs and stuff and people play games and stuff. And its like a regular pub that sells beer?

Wow. That combo and idea sounds great. I never heard of such a thing.

I was going to say "wow, pubs in the UK must be very different than the ones in Australia." 'Cause that would not happen here.

I think it would work here in Austria (depending on the pub), but given the fact that my system weighs around 100 kilo, that would be too much of a hassle.

However, I usually go out with friends and colleagues, so most of them have never seen my appartment despite knowing them for over ten years, but currently, I'm booked out (only inviting one at a time since others talking in the background would have a negative impact on immeresion, Imho).

Pics or it didn't happen!

I'd prob get stabbed, shot or robbed if I did that round here! Lol

Sounds awesome! Wish they had something this in Cheshire!

You could do it from the back of a footballer WAG's Range Rover :D :D :D rather than an actual pub in Cheshire. At the first sign of trouble, shut the tailgate, kick off the stilleto heels and put the pedal to the metal.

Back in the Amiga500/Atari ST days we had a local 'computer club' which met in a local pub. It was great as a wannabee programmer to be able to talk to people who actually did it for a living and I picked up loads of tips. People brought all their machines along and you try out almost anything that was available and you could have a few beers too - it was great.

It all went south though and devolved into a software swapmeet, and the smarter people drifted away wanting no involvement. There were people who had no interest in the games or utilities they had but judged their 'worth' by how many floppies of ripped off software they had. They were like 'software collectors' he who had the latest ripped off program or game was King for a night.

Alright, a bit grainy and difficult to make out that this actually in the pub but this is a pic nonetheless. Please note that I did not bring in my monitor. It was replaced by the mini projector that is perched on top of the PC. It didn't really matter because all the action happened in the Rift.

Lol despite living 5min away from Dwayne Rooney, I'm not willing to take the risk! I live in a 'Hick' town full of morons!
Just shows you that despite all the footballers and WAGS nearby the money doesn't filter into the surrounding towns,

Was only joking but thanks anyway!

All you need is a pint!

Your efforts into the field of evangelizing the good word, is a shining example to us all OP. I am humbled by such dedication, and at the very least some moderate hardware risk taking! :)
