Dense squares of stars still...

Sadly, that is an artefact of Stellar Forge, which shows up transitions to denser mass boxes like that. There are much better informed people than I in the Exploration forum who can explain the details, but it isn’t something that is fixable (short of regenerating the entire galaxy, which is a bit unlikely at this point

I thought it might be something like that. Thanks for replying.... it does spoil things a little for travelling outside of the bubble though and I sort of hoped there had been some kind of work-around by now...never mind eh?. o7
If it helps, this type of artifact is associated with the denser regions of stars towards the core - if you stick to the outer arms, you won’t see this. I spent 12 months touring the “southern” half of the galaxy in the arms, and never saw any obvious lines or boxes in all that time

Thanks for that info.... I was out in the far reaches of the Formadine Rift not so long ago and like you say..I saw no artifacts like the 'star box effect' to the point where I actually ran out of 'jumpable' stars (the sky was very, very black and pretty star free)....unfortunately I am currently heading in the opposite direction, nearing Colonia. *which bears out just what you are saying about direction of travel!If it helps, this type of artifact is associated with the denser regions of stars towards the core* - if you stick to the outer arms, you won’t see this.
