One of the systems visited in Descent 2 was Zeta Aquilae. I saw this and let out a squee so loud. I know it's a real star, it was just so neat to see in game.

i did the same thing. Elite seems a little much for my daughter to play but I told her how much I liked Descent. I found it on Steam half price and had a brief nostalgia trip. She has it on her PC now and I went back to Elite. Now I have to go check the Galaxy map.

Yeah it was really similar, I think Freespace used pgup/home/ins keys to manage GSE. I still find myself clicking page up to max engines and wind up slowing down cuz I keep deploying my scoop ;D
