Admittedly I am a newbie to the game (and the series) and granted, this is beta.
I took to trading almost right off the bat, I feel these jobs pay the best and to minor extent I feel pigeonholed into this "career" (for now at least) because I want a ship that can crush others and this seems like the fastest means to an end. Although there is something oddly rewarding about that feeling when I finally dock in and and sell my cargo and fill up with new, almost like cashing in a paycheck.
I'm getting a bit off-topic here.
What I was getting at is that I found trading or "hauling" to be a large part of the game but I don't feel like it was covered in the "tutorials" or scenarios (I assumed these were pseudo-tutorials). I'd also like to have some descriptions on the commodities I'm trading because sometimes I feel like I have no idea what I'm shipping around (also just nice for the flavor-factor).
The galaxy map could use a tutorial as well, I just want to know more about the commodities so I can discern what system might possibly need them as I'm cashing in and getting ready to visit the next system with a new cargo full, as I usually have no idea what to fill my cargo with.
Might be useful to be able to get a quick glance at the supply/demand-state of any given station (in the galaxy map) at the time of my last visit there. I'm sure there are complexities to how much data you can store server side and such, but couldn't this be done client side? and wouldn't it be a reasonable feature to see in a hauling ship interface in the setting and time of the game?
I feel confused, I'm not sure this is common for everyone or if I'm just the one "doing it wrong"
