Desert pack

I made a picture

This is a good list, except nooo to the camel spider! Maybe a King Cobra instead? I believe there's a rumor or a leak or game files someone found that there's a though the next pack will be desert related. I think this would be a good pack.

haha it is a terrifying little guy ;) The reason I opted for a camel spider is there is currently only 1 bug with a desert enclosure and very few bugs overall. I guess an alternative could be a Dune cricket?

So, some species got updated for the desert biome with this lastest patch. I wonder if that's a sign of more things to come in another few months?

I don't think that means anything. Other animals got updated for Taiga biome too.

I like this. I'd like to see some North American desert species as well, since we have some north American flora but currently no species which would have habitats suitable for them.

Ringtails, Kit foxes, and armadillos? Maybe Mexican wolf (which has been extinct in the wild), though there are already two subspecies of gray wolf in the game.

Naked mole rats would also make an interesting desert exhibit species. Fascinating creatures with a lot to teach us.

Instead of a grey wolf, maybe a Coyote? While it's another canid, it's distinct enough that it's not just another wolf.

I'm pretty sure Pronghorns do sometimes live in Deserts, so they should give them the Desert Tag

Even though it's another North American Canid, I would love to see Coyotes in the Game

I would do it this way:

1. Coyote - it'll have the desert tag, but also temperate and grassland
2. Collared Peccary - a relative to the pigs, I believe
3. Dromedary Camel - the other camel species
4. Meerkat - a must, and it'll also have the grasslands tag
5. King Cobra - iconic. But I'd prefer the Red Spitting Cobra

Theme - Adobe theme (mud/clay type structures)

We definitely need more desert animals. It's probably the most underrepresented biome in PZ. I hate the current 4 + 1 format, and we don't know if they're going to keep that going forward into Year 2, though I have little faith they'll change it unfortunately. So under those restrictions this is what I'd want from a desert specific pack:

  • Fennec fox
  • Sand cat
  • Collared peccary
  • White-nosed coati
  • Veiled chameleon (Exhibit)

We have no small canids or small cats, something that is a bit ridiculous for a zoo game. Any zoo in the world is more likely to have smaller canids or felines than the bigger lions, tigers etc. I can honestly do without the dromedary, we really don't need another camel, we need diversity. Which is funny because if Frontier did decide to make a desert pack, they'd almost assuredly put a dromedary in because they like to have at least one clone since it saves them time, money and effort.

As far as the other animal choices go, we need more American animals (by this I mean NA, CA and SA). These could fit well as primarily desert animals, but since Frontier loves their tropical rainforest biome so much, they could also be quite happy with that as a secondary biome. Lastly, we still don't have any chameleon species, so this would fix that.

As far as new building options go, I like the idea of a limited adobe/sandstone set. I think a couple really nice stone textures and some better looking glass would be great. We also definitely need more desert plants from around the world.

I like this idea for a desert pack, but I'm not so sure about the desert tortoise... the Dromedary makes sense as the obligate clone, and isn't the tortoise a bit small?

Great idea however the collared peccary may look like a pig but it’s not a pig it’s a member of the peccary family.

Oh, ok. My encyclopedia is probably outdated, then, because it places them in a similar group as pigs. I think Peccaries would be a great addition
