Engineers Desperately Seeking cargo storage

AI difficulty, Engineer RNG randomness, material scarcity aside....

We DESPERATELY need a way to store cargo required for engineer updates. I know it's planned in the pipeline, but can we vocally agree this needs to be a priority for Frontier now (as well as the 3 massively debated topics above)

I've just done some missions hoping to get certain materials from the mission givers and/or the signal sources involved. Got a few common ones, and also some cargo rewards that I'm not sure what I can do with yet until I progress further with the engineers. SO do I carry these round for weeks/months until I CAN use them? No, because every AI pilot this side of Beagles Point will be harassing me from now till Tuesday. I've jumped through the hoops to get these materials, and now I need to dump them and jump the hoops at a later data after all the other materials and reputation is in line.

Introducing looting and crafting without any permanent storage is an oversight in my eye. Being able to switch cargo between ships is a start, but that's already locked me in my Anaconda because my combat ships didn't have cargo racks installed, so I didn't switch as I didn't want to lose the cargo. So instead I got blown up and lost the cargo anyway and introduced to a 11 million rebuy screen. And with the aggressive AI interdiction's and hounding, carrying cargo anywhere for a prolonged period of time is virtually impossible.

What say you?

I agree with everything you say, another thing that's annoying is needing a cargo rack to allow the cargo hatch to open, not very good when in a vulture scooping materials in a high res site. not exactly life-altering game wise, but more annoying than "are we there yet?".

An extra small slot module for every ship to make up for the now requirement of collector limpets amd cargo holds would be nice.....

Altneratively they should just make every commodity purchasable in select systems like the do with some of them.

For instance reinforced mounting plates show this:

From Eurybia it's possible to find the system where you can actually buy it. There are some commodities (which require cargo space) that only come from missions though, like modular terminals. Those are problematic. If they worked the same way then cargo capacity becomes much less of an issue.
