Destiny 2 - Free to Play

Anyone else trying this out?

It's a little confusing in the beginning because you get no guidance at all but after a review online i decided to go with starting the main campaign which was not exactly clear that it was a good way to start the game as an introduction.

It's kind of fun, didn't cost me a penny and you get a shooter campaign.

I played D2 a year and something ago. It's not bad, but it's definitely better with at least one other person. In fact, I'd say for a 2 people coop, it's one of the most fun games on the market, right now. :)

To be fair, I haven't played Destiny with any enthusiasm in any form since the beta on Xbox many moons ago... I did play a bit after release...I just got tired of my mates having to drop back several levels just to help me level up all the time...since I didn't play it as often as they did. Too much pew, not enough substance for me.

I fear that if most of the game is a grind and not a plethora of campaigns then I'll probably not play more than the campaigns.

The game is fun, as shooter goes but after Borderlands 1&2 most shooters have boring weapons.

Personally I don't really do multiplayer and "end game" very much, so I ran into this exact problem - after finishing the story, I'm basically done with the game. Then repeat three times for DLCs.
I really don't understand people spending thousands of hours in Destiny. :)
Still, it's a good shooter.

People who spend lots of time in it usually have groups of friends they play with, it makes it so much more fun.

Yeah, I know. I don't have "groups of friends", though. Some may have noticed but I am a rather insufferable person. :)
I have one friend and we ran through the game together and it was really fun, but doing strikes (or whatsitcalled) over and over to farm better equipment just for the sake of having a better equipment (and I guess bragging rights) is not for me.

I just kinda play, ive found im good enough to do most stuff, never grind.

We all like different things :)

Ok so you almost had me , it is not actually Destiny 2 that is free to play, it is "Destiny 2 New Light" which is a cut down free to play version of Destiny 2.

What content isn't included in Destiny 2 New Light?
New Light comes with a whole lot of stuff, but not quite everything. You get all of Year 1, but only parts of Year 2. Story content in Forsaken and the Annual Pass is unavailable, as are end-game activities like raids (namely Last Wish, Scourge of the Past, and Crown of Sorrow) and the Shattered Throne dungeon. Many Exotics and weapons are also excluded from New Light, not to mention the nine alternate subclass trees and Supers introduced in Forsaken. Most of the content in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is also unavailable - again, including the new raid, dungeon, and story content.

You get the 3 older dlcs and the base game. Lots of game for free.

I have tried to play Destiny 2 but it is very unfriendly for new players.

The shooter part is good but that's about all and I am playing the full game with expansion/dlc/seasons pass etc.
