Destiny 2

I truly enjoyed playing the original Destiny, enough that I played through it 5 times from scratch and own all the DLC.

Not only are the controls well done, the co-op sp story mode and strikes are a blast.

That said...

- Are there any other Elite Dangerous players who enjoyed Destiny 1 and looking forward to Destiny 2 like I am?

- Will you be pre-ordering it, getting it day 1, or waiting for the reviews to come in first?

- Will you get it on PC, XBOX, or PS4?

As for me, I'll likely pre-order a digital version with first two DLC's as we get closer to Sept. 8th in order to get a pre-order bonus, and since most of my friends are on XBL I'll likely get it for XBO but the PC version is tempting.

Previously was a very strong Destiny player. It was my game calling before ED came along. Not sure how many times I have felled Crota now, and I'll wear my year 1 moments of triumph emblem until the day the Destiny servers are shut down.

Unfortunately I have lost appetite for the game as it's "progressed". If Kanye West would have an opinion on the subject, it'd go like this:

"Sorry EA Games, but Bungie released the worst DLC money grabbing scheme of all time"

There's been progressively less to do other than completing your weekly activities and waiting for the next week to come along. The new raid playlists went a tiny way to fixing it conceptually but again, it's just another "activity on repeat", while absolutely all old content is completely and utterly meaningless.

You literally have to play through "the new content" over and over ad nauseum, and venturing near anything from previous releases is a) trivial as you're violently OP, and b) in the case of Y1 is pointless because the items are unusable from a light perspective.

I don't think I'll be able to avoid buying Destiny 2. But if it's the same game in essence - complete story line, then repeat the same bloody task again and again - I doubt I'll venture near the DLC, and that will be my end of what I initially thought was one of the best franchises going.

I will admit I had a lot of issues with the pricing of the Destiny 1 DLC.

That said, I so enjoyed Destiny 1 I'm absolutely getting Destiny 2 (but maybe not the DLC if it's overpriced again)
