Destiny

Was struggling with the wait for the next exciting installment of Elite so decided to go out and buy a PS4 with the free game Destiny.
Loving it!

I don't know if I could do that. Both ED and Destiny, even if I didn't have a real life, job, and have to sleep, there's only 24 hours in a day.

Unless you're going hard core and playing them at the same time. :)

Enjoying Destiny so far, typical Bungie = polished.

I've been playing too many alphas/betas/shoddy releases recently and it's quite nice just jumping into something that is properly well executed.

I can't make my mind up on the aesthetics...it's *nearly* great but borders too much on the generic scifi. Borrows a little too much from Halo if I'm honest.

Good entertaining game though. I loved Borderlands, but the comedy side of it gets *really* annoying after the nth playthrough.

Meh... generic space shooter. Fishbowl multiplayer. Coop is a plus, but the story is uninspired. Some of the music is quite good, other bits are just outright badly composed and orchestrated.

It's really weird to watch this game being hyped as the next big thing. It's not.

It's got potential, how they expand the world is going to make or break it.

I haven't been consuming any of the hype, didn't play the beta, didn't watch trailers. Knew of it though, and had a few recommendations from friends.

It's hard to criticise, everything about it is good without being exceptional....which is quite an achievement in itself, but I hope they can add that bit extra down the road.

i am so on the fence about destiny. on the one hand i really want to play it, but on the other i kind of know if will bore me to tears in a short amount of time.

Had a pc version of the game hit at launch i would have bitten but it would have to be the ps3 version right now...

I got the game free with my PS4 , tried it out last night, i'm not sure what its all about yet, just seems like shooting stuff over and over.

Anyway, enough about that, I want to hear more from Mick about his friend Destiny :)

Yup - shooting stuff is what the game is all about.

I'm having fun with it though - as far as brainless shooters go it's very enjoyable, and coop is great.

I still cannot see how it cost so much though, theres not actually a lot of expensive content. Also, the story is weak - but still a fun game.

I'll give it another go tonight, see if I can get hooked or not.

Yeah I got the PS4 for other games, but have this as well.. definitely more fun with friends. It does not meet the hype by a long shot, but if you ignore that and treat it like a co-op shooter with some MMO-light mechanics and like to grind, its good fun.

I do think the added content will make or break this game long term.

SOme lessons here for Frontier too in terms of creating a shell of a game. Too little content and things to do at launch can create a nasty backlash, no matter how good your expansion plan is.
