I have placed an orbital structure in space but have not yet started to fill or build it, but would like to delete/destroy it again. How can I delete the structure?

You cannot.
Yeah, apparently cancelling an incomplete build is impossible, as is (rather more understandably) deleting a completed structure.
I think your only chance is if this is your first station in that system, in which case there's a timer running...
Ok ye makes sense so i have to think twice when i want to build station or settlement. Thanks
