Destroy the Thargz ? Too early for me

I have decided not to fire on them until I see conclusive proof that the Thargoid Scouts we encounter are connected with the green damage we see on ships. Maybe they are on the same team, maybe they did that damage themselves (but never to CMDR ships, oddly).

Still I look for answers.

I'm not even sold on using the Research Limpets at this point. Maybe if Thargoid Scouts were stealing chunks of my own ship before flying away, I'd consider it.

I tried a research limpet once and he went all defcon 5 at me, I could barely escape.
After that I sold the limpet controller and only bought the xeno scanner, not the ax missiles.
There's so much more to them then a presumed killing machine.

I was there, and was forced in the middle of that war. But what started it back then? and even so, if they're not looking for war, why would we now?
