Horizons Destroyed twice by some sort of space police? Who are these dorks?

I destroyed an interdictor and happened to wing a passing space policeman of some kind. So, repeating the mission, I find myself beset by angry space cops as I try and dock, getting destroyed AGAIN. I noticed the game dinged me the 200 credits I apparently owed that area for accidentally plinking them. Was that it? Returning to pay the fine, I get destroyed? Sweet.

I think I'll do something else for a while now.

If you are WANTED, dont let the station police scan your ship, turn SILENT RUNNING on and slip inside the station! The same in any interdiction, if the police arrive and you are WANTED, GET OUT OF THERE!, they will scan both ships and after check your status will begin shooting!

For a 200cr bounty, look at the transactions tab in the left-hand panel. It will show you the bounty and how long you have to wait before you pay it off.

It will probably say something like "00h08m." When it reaches zero, it will change to "on H-jump," meaning you have to jump out of the system and back in. The bounty will now be a small fine and you can dock without fear of being attacked by the fuzz.

It wasn't a fine - it was a bounty - it's stupid, I know, but that's the way it is.

Ah well. I've done unusually well the past couple of weeks. The two missions are still in play until tomorrow, so I'll try it again.

THANKS!!!

The bounty on the left hand panel will aslo tell you which faction you are wanted by. Check the system map to see who owns the stations in system and dock at one they don't own if possible - you will not be wanted there. Also you are unlikely to be scanned if you go to an outpost rather than a station or surface port.

Yeah - the fuzz never look kindly on "friendly fire" - thats true in ED and in real life. What is the problem ? If you "wing" a copper RUN - its a method thats been used for centuries. High-wake out, wait a few minutes and then high-wake back and pay the fine. Simple.
P.S. this doesn't work in real life....

Funny thing happened to me once. I was on my Python going to my system where I "live", when suddenly I see that I am not an ally to this system (meh, whatever). Then I arrived to the station, requested docking and saw that Scan Detected message. I was abou t to be scanned by about 10 cops (they spammed a lot). Then I thought "Alrighty, what could possibly go wrong?" when this happened. 9 outa 10 cops said "Cheers mate, you're good to go/Thanks for cooperation/Have a nice day" and that 1 cop was like "Stop right there you criminal scum!". Pew-pew. My ship went boom (couldn't fly away) and apparently I did have a bounty of 100-500cr which I was not aware of. I had most epic face palm I ever had. Conclusion: F the police!
