Detailed Surface Scanner Controls Sensitivity

I use a controller for certain things, like the DSS which now fires the probes to map the planets, but I'm finding the analogue controls extremely sensitive, and I can't figure if I'm missing something with the controls. I'm finding I have to constantly adjust back and forth until I get where I wanted to aim in the first place.

I notice there is a DSS mouse sensitivity, but nothing for controllers, my axis is set to Third person YAW and PITCH Axis in the controls.

I'm using an Xbox Elite controller.

Any suggestions?

You could try the elite controller app, you can adjust stick sensitivity in there along with assigning buttons to the back paddles. If not why not try the longer sticks. I use these when playing Elite or Warthunder as they give me more control over pitch and yaw.

Yeah, even with mouse sensitivity it seems all or nothing.

I think the sensitivity settings could use another pass.

Also: I use the keyboard.

Trying to control positioning using the DSS is a royal pain. Movement is about 300% as sensitive as it should be. There's no progressive movement, and the sensitivity settings are unavailable with mouse control disabled.

Key sensitivity needs to be reduced, or made an option in the Controls menu.

You could use Joystick Curves or Joystick Gremlin to set a sensitivity curve. Both are vJoy feeder programs that pass the data from the controller through a virtual stick. They can be a little finnicky to set up at first, especially if you haven't used them before (Joystick Gremlin particularly so), but they're powerful pieces of software.

Anyone solve this issue with the DSS on keyboard? It's really annoying to accurately target the probes.
